Gardening and Fun, The Belmar Child and Family Center April 24,2004

The Center is a child guidance clinic that provides, among other forms of therapy, horticulture therapy. The Center and Daniel Webster Middle School share the Garden. On this very sunny and hot day Mocha's and their children gave it their all to help with the pulling up of old weeds and dead flowers. Afterwards the group plantted new seeds for flowers as well as vegetable. At the end of the day the Mocha children had a chance to pick fresh vegetables to take home from the garden.

Windsor Hills Convalescent Hospital December 12,2003

Mocha's and their children went out in Grand style all dressed for the Holiday season to add a little sunshine to those that are in convealescent homes. The moms and their children gave the gift of song by lifting up their voices. After the songs they were able fellowship with the residents.

Turning Points Transitional Housing Shelter September 19,2003

Both Mocha's and their children bagan with a tour of the facility and a brief orientation to the Turning Points program. They then concluded the tour by preparing sack lunches from food that THEY donated for the shelter's 55 residents.

Food in the Hood with Crenshaw High Scool L.A, June 2002

One of the neighborhoods hit hardest by the Los Angeles riots of 1992, students found a way to revive their community in their own backyard. Planting New Hope

Garden Food From The 'Hood was created to help students convert a weed-infested, quarter-acre of dirt behind Crenshaw High School into a garden.

From the beginning, students donated most of the produce to shelters or to people who didn't have any money to buy fresh vegetables. Now a thriving student-owned business, Food From The 'Hood still donates its harvest to the needy. To date, the program has awarded nearly $200,000 in scholarships to 77 of its graduates.

Mocha's joined in with the students to help cultivate their garden as well as host a Bar B-Q with the students.
